The cave of the vats is one of the 7 wonders of the Dauphiné. This is the place to be, near the city of Grenoble. This place allows you to travel for a moment, thanks to the magnificent panorama outside the cave, and especially thanks to its underground galleries and its river when you are in the heart of it. It is also a great way to discover the surroundings of the city of Grenoble, especially when you have just moved in.

You will discover in this cave many legends, the most famous of them is that of the fairy Melusine who would be a mermaid who would hide in the vats of Sassenage, since her husband surprised her in his bath, while she suffered her curse of being half woman and half fish one day a week.

This cave in Sassenage is also a great way to get in the mood for Halloween. Indeed, from October 23 until November 7 of this year, the cave is accessible except October 31, and decorated on the theme of Halloween. Distributions of sweets and discount are even planned for those who will go there in disguise.
